Watching the episodes of your Favourite TV show on the net is awesome! and many of us still think that watching videos on net is free and make a huge mistake. Watching video on net isn’t free, it buffers because of transmission of data from server to the user or sometimes P2p. You might have noticed 2 timelines with one superimposing the other. The one which leads is the buffer time-line, it shows how far the video has be downloaded, commonly known as buffering. Many of the video sharing sites don’t allow users to download the video directly from the site, put besides the exceptions for example http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3PuHGKnboNY. I thought Youtube commenced Direct Download but this doesn’t seem to move any further.

Leaving a Video buffer and watching it after the buffering is over will let you watch the video smoothly provided you have the latest version of flash player. As you know, Microsoft Operating Systems are user friendly or you can say you’re more used to it. Internet Explorer’s cache is unlike the other browsers. One can access it’s information easily, Yes, Saving the buffered Videos and also Temporary Files saved in your computer. The file named as “Temporary Internet Files” in your Local Disk. This destination consists of Every Junk from a Cookie to an EXE file! Yup it also saves some programs which do not let the user have the setup files, like Yahoo Messenger.

To download your videos, first you must let them buffer till the end, patience is important. Remember your patience will let you save the file, If you’re in a hurry and don’t let the video buffer till the end you pay for it by downloading it again from 3rd party sites.

First get into C:\Documents and Settings\[User name]\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files. Replace the user name with your user name.

Secondly Right Click—>> Arrange Icons By–>> Size, which makes you find your saved videos easily as videos are always bigger in size and also Right Click—>> View–>> Details, So that you can find your file by type and Size easily.

Third, Scroll to the end as these files are placed in ‘size’ order.

The last part Copy The file from this folder and paste it to the location you want to and then rename it. Hola! your Buffered Video is now with you, Time saved and Data Transfers reduced.

Well, Mac is back to it’s old position now by introducing the all new “all in one desktops” but this time It’s the CPU and Monitor together while the keyboard and mouse are hand as always. This comes along with wireless keyboard and wireless mouse.

Making computing environment much easier this time, So that the user does not get irritated by the wires from Keyboard, Mouse, Monitor to the CPU. Everything inbuilt this time almost it’s clean except for the power cable that goes from the Monitor to Plug-point. As we did have a competition between Microsoft and Mac about the Mouse, was introduced the Apple’s Magic mouse. It competition was called the Mighty Mouse fight. This mouse is operated with gestures. With just three fingered swipe for navigation while surfing. Two AA sized batteries are installed with power switch on the bottom. It’s recognized as a blue tooth device. It’s all the touch way.

Limited to Administrator- The hack way

Follow the steps given below to convert your accounts privileges from limited to administrator.

1) Press Windows Logo+R or Start—>>Run to open Run dialog.

2) Type in “cmd” without quotes to bring up the command prompt window.

3) To view administrators of your PC type in “net localgroup administrators”

4) To change your limited account to administrator account type in “net localgroup administrators /add “accountname” ” For eg. “net localgroup administrators /add techundercover” will convert techundercover’s account privileges from Limited to administrator.

5) Close CMD by pressing X button or type in “exit” without quotes.

Make sure you’re not logged in from the account for which you want to change the privileges and the account you’ve logged on from is an Administrator account. If you have any doubts whether this Hack works or not try this. 1) Before getting into Cmd go to Control panel–>User accounts–>>User accounts–>> and check the Privileges of the account which is going to be hacked and made an Administrator account and Check the status after you finish hacking and you’ll find the change.

Toddler Proof your PC

As computers make their way to many houses they’ve become a new frontier of child hazard. Keeping the toddlers away from the important stuff is quite difficult but still it’s worth an attempt.

The kid gets into playful mood when you’re working on your laptop/desktop? That isn’t a big issue at all, because you can warn them as you’re gonna be around the computer but When you’re attending a phone call or into toilet it’s quite difficult.While you return you find a lot of unwanted text in your document leading to loss of information sometimes. No matter how high you keep your keyboard, toddlers find a way to reach them. And, of course, a keyboard is not just a boring set of keys for a child, it’s a combination of piano and drums which generates mushy sound.

Finding your Pc switched off is something which occurs often as the kid is attracted by the glowing lights on the Power Button or getting the PC reset often or the the Mouse clicking on several links or images on the web pages redirecting you from the site you were in. Reset button is not a big issue as you can cover it with cardboard and then tape it and alternatively you can lock your account but that doesn’t lock drive doors, power button, keyboard and the mouse but it does secure your PC from being shut.

2010- Year of the Tablet PC ?

Among the new sleek and cool technologies coming up in the Las Vegas Consumer Electronics Show said to be held on January 2010 a sleek tablet pc is gonna be released. Named as “Adam” which is designed in Hyderabad and Bangalore.

“It’s a ‘smartpad’, small enough to be carried anywhere and big enough to do anything” said one of it’s creators. It’s launched by 7 people including 6 from IIT and an MBA graduate who left their careers for bringing up this ‘next-gen’ device. Click here for Image preview

This cool tech device weights 770 gms, 0.6 inch thick, with 10.1 inch scratch resistant touch screen which comes loaded with features that are likely to ‘wow’ the user and ‘aww’ the other companies.

PIQ DISPLAY: It’s the first device to feature Pixel Qi display, which is easily affordable, power saving that allows to user to scroll through three different modes. Other than the LCD mode it can run the pc in low power, basic colour and trans-reflective mode and a very low-power, sunlight readable e-paper mode that fiddles the pressure on the eye. It’s a touch screen with fingerprint-resistant, which is quite useful now a days and the old touch screens blur the screen often as the fingers leave prints on the screen which gives user unclear appearance. ‘Oleophobic’ meaning oil-repelling, because our palms sweat often and ‘oleophobic’ screen removes a disadvantage of damaging the screen with sweat as often we can’t wipe our hands and surely it comes with Anti-glare coating that lets the user have an undisturbed view of the screen.

Some of the components inside Adam are Water, Ambient light and proximity sensors, accelerometer, assisted GPS, digital compass, in-built microphone and speakers. It will only be loaded with Flash memory or 16 or 32 GB with Secure Digital Card support.

It has three interfaces: touch screen, track pad loaded behind the screen allowing the user to use cursor from front or rear of the device and virtual keyboard. It’s 3 MP rotatable camera placed on it’s top can easily takes pictures within 180 degree.

The maker’s of this device wanted an OS, So they chose Android but the Android’s interface would appear stretched on the smartpad’s screen as Android was designed for mobiles, this issue is yet to be taken care of. Notion ink is making a deal with telecom providers in India and US to test this device for communication issues.

And at last here comes the part which you were awaiting for, Notion Ink assures the price of this cool device will be approximately Rs.15,000 when it’s out in the Indian, Eurpoean and U.S. markets in June 2010.

1000 year storage capacity – For real?

You might think that the documents, games and media files stored in the CD’s and DVD’s may last for a year. I hope you don’t because layers from the CD’s start peeling off and at times the very layer at which the information is stored, comes off.  But wait, there is a solution. A disc which can last for 1000 years in room temperature. The disk, called Millennial disk, is made by the company Millenniata. It is similar to a DVD. It’ll have layers of hard and persistent material which are laid down on plastic to protect the information in your disk. It has a special writer, known as the M Writer Drive and the disk is named as MARC disk. But once the millennial disk is stored with information, it can be read by normal DVD players and readers. The maximum capacity is currently offered by the Blu Ray disc – 50 GB (Double layered) but the Millennial disk will offer you a storage of capacity exceeding 200 GB.

The disk will cost quiet an amount in the beginning, but an increase in production and usage, will make the price go down, as happens to every computer hardware. The Millennial Disk is bound to be used a lot as the information in the Disk is completely secure. The production methods and technology is kept secret. Maybe the company will hold on to the technology until a major institution decides to invest in the technology and produce the Disks in bulk. You might have statements asserting that the Blu Ray discs are cheaper than Millennial disks. It’s the quality that is important and not the price. Seeing that the millennial disk offers protection of the data for 1000+ years, the cost is more than justified. Gold is said to increase the life of disks, and so it is used in the Millennial Disk. According to sources, a secret hard material is also added with the gold. The disks are supposed to have been released on the first of September of this year, but the production has been delayed. These disks sound too good to be true. Are the notions of these disks empty words or is the technology of the future? Only Millennieta can tell. If they do manage to produce these disks, I have only one thing to say:
